    Training Requirements for the Board Certified Coach Credential (BCC)

The Board Certified Coach Credential is offered by the Center for Credentialing and Education and takes into account that professionals with a Masters Degree in Counseling already have significant training related to professional coaching so only 60 hours of additional coach specific training is required to obtain this credential.   

If you have a Master’s Degree, such as an MSW, a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology, but not specifically in "Counseling" the Center for Credentialing and Education  states that to obtain their BCC Credential you must complete:

60 Hours of Coach Specific Training from an Approved Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) Provider

Two Options to Complete Your Training:

     Option 1:  In-Person and DVD Option  (62-Hour Curriculum)

        Step One:  Attend our 6-Day, 44-hour, In-Person Intensive Coach Training Program in Dallas, Philadelphia or Santa Barbara.

         Step Two:  Follow up the in-person training with three courses on DVD for the additional 18 hours.  You will then have completed a 62-Hour training program.

    Field Techniques of Executive Coaching (DVD)

        This will complete all your coach specific training needed for the BCC Credential.

        Here is a summary of the requirements for the Center for Credentialing and Education's Board Certified Coach Credential*:
